Crochet this Heart Case which features a fun and unique crochet heart stitch! This case is worked bottom-up and once you get to row 5, it’s just a simple 2-row repeat. I’ve used a variation of colors, but only two colors is also very nice.

About the Heart Case
This case is worked bottom up. It’s a very simple repeat of just 2 rows. This case features chains, sc and dc stitches.
For this case I’ve used hobbii Rainbow which is 100% cotton yarn. The fine weight yarn is perfect for making cases.

– hobbii Rainbow Cotton (Weight 1/super fine, 186yds/ 1.75 oz, 170m/50g)
24 grams color 01 (white)
5 grams color 39 (purple)
5 grams color 31 (blue)
5 grams color 22 (green)
5 grams color 54 (yellow)
5 grams color 57 (orange)
5 grams color 58 (red)
or same amount of grams of similar yarn
– 4 mm crochet hook
– Darning needle
– Scissors
– Stitch marker
Abbreviations:
st: stitch
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
Gauge:
17 dc x 9 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm
Measurements:
Width: 11″/ 28 cm
Height: 7″/ 17,5 cm
Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms
– This case is worked bottom up and is worked in rounds
– If you want to change the size, just add repeats of row 4 & 5
– Turning chains do not count as a stitch

With hook size 4mm:
With white
ch 90, sl st in 1st ch to close the ring
note: always hold the white yarn you’re not using on the front of your work
Round 1
ch 1, sc in same st, sc in every st across, sl st in 1st st, place stitch marker in last sl st <90 total>
change to purple
Round 2
Join with purple yarn and start in the 3rd sc
5 dc in same st, ch 2, skip 5 st, *5 dc in next st, ch 2, skip 5 st*, sl st in 1st st, fasten of <15 hearts to be>
change to white
note: always hold the color you’re not using on the back of your work
Round 3
Insert your hook in the sl st previous white round where the stitch marker is
ch 5, sc in 3rd dc, ch 2, *2 dc in 3rd sc 1st round & around ch bow, ch 2, sc in 3rd dc, ch 2*, 1 dc in same st as start ch, sl st in 3rd ch, place stitch marker in last sl st.
change to blue
Round 4
Join with purple yarn and start in between the 2 dc
5 dc in between the 2 dc, ch 2, *5 dc in between next 2 dc, ch 2*, sl st in 1st st, fasten of <15 hearts to be>
change to white
Round 5
Insert your hook in the sl st previous white round where the stitch marker is
sl st around last ch b previous white round
ch 5, sc in 3rd dc, ch 2, 1 dc in next ch bow (before last round before sc, 1 dc in next ch bow (before last round) after sc, ch 2, sc in 3rd dc, ch 2* , 1 dc in next ch bow (before last round) before sc, sl st in 3rd ch.
Repeat round 4 & 5 until round 25 or until you’re happy with the size.

Round 2 & 14 : purple

Round 6 & 18 : green

Fasten off and weave in the ends.
ASSEMBLY
Close the bottom by seam with sl st in the outer loops.
